36th Annual Knucklebuster Award Banquet

We have been fortunate enough to serve our troops at the annual Knucklebuster Awards banquet for several years. These men and women work hard maintaining refueling planes, and we are once again fortunate enough to supply the food for this event.

2-135th GSAB Family Day

The 2-135th Ground Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) flies a variety of missions, from security operations to disaster relief. They might be transporting troops or aiding medical evacuations. Every member of aviation, from pilots to crew chiefs to mechanics, is vital to accomplishing a mission. Every helicopter has its own team of mechanics to ensure it’s always running efficiently. In the event of a natural disaster, Guard pilots drop water and food and save those in harm’s way. They are trained to fly in any weather and take off or land in high-risk situations.

The work the 2-135 GSAB does is vitally important and so is their family days. Family days are always special. It’s is an opportunity for the members of a unit to come together with their commanders, spouses, and family members to share in fellowship, games, and of course, great food. Battle At Boxwood ’17

The 7th Annual Battle At Boxwood took place on Saturday July 22, 2017 at Boxwood Gulch Ranch in Shawnee, CO.  The Battle at Boxwood is an annual event that serves as both a fishing tournament and a fundraiser for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc and the veterans they serve.  This annual event is a 1 day competition comprising of 10 four-man teams (each including a professional guide, sponsor, sports or entertainment celebrity, and two PHWFF veteran participants).  Thanks to the generosity of the Mauritz family and Boxwood Gulch, the event takes place on a private section of the South Platte River — a beautiful, restorative, fish-filled environment.  Opportunities for rainbow, brown, cutthroat, cutbow, and brook trout are abundant, with trout averaging 16” – 22” on the 3 mile stretch of water offered by Boxwood Gulch Ranch.  The top 3 teams are determined by the teams total length of trout landed.

The Battle at Boxwood was founded by  Steve Payne, a business executive and retired NHL player, who spent 10 years with the Minnesota North Stars (now the Dallas Stars). In his words, “Supporting our military is important to me, so I spend a lot of time doing so. With help from some generous, caring friends, I created the Battle at Boxwood event now in it’s seventh year. The event supports the wonderful organization, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF), by raising money and getting recovering wounded warriors on the water for a day of trout fishing with sports celebrities from the NHL, NFL and MLB.”

The All American Beef Battalion is proud to be The PHWFF Battle at Boxwood’s lunch sponsor. It is truly a blessing to serve all of those involved with this great event a big, juicy rib eye, sides, dessert and, rumor has it, the Steaks for troops  crew even fried up some Rocky Mtn. Oysters this year! We’re proud to say we’ve been the lunch sponsor for this incredible event since the beginning and we’re already planning for next year’s Battle At Boxwood!

For additional information on this great event and cause, check out Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.

1ST Space BDE Org Day

Organizational days are always special. It’s is an opportunity for the members of a unit to come together with their commanders, spouses, and family members to share in fellowship, games, and of course, great food. We always love providing hearty, juicy “Thank You’s” at Org days. We love seeing troops, their spouses and families come together for such a fun filled event and are honored to serve those who serve us.The 1st Space BDE Org was a joyous event with camaraderie and little ones everywhere and we also had some local VFW Auxiliary members come out to volunteer. Unfortunately mother nature decided she needed to provide a drenching shower right at serving time, but that didn’t stop us from serving Steaks For Troops. Although some choose to head home, the brave ones who waited out the storm were handsomely rewarded with plenty (and we mean p-l-e-n-t-y) of food and we were even able to make sure the Military Police were properly fed and celebrate one of our near and dear volunteer’s birthday!

Tasty Transition

We always enjoy it when the Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion request our services to provide their warriors in transition juicy rib eyes, pats on backs, and above all, a handshake thanking them for their service. The Warrior Transition Battalion’s mission is to  provide command and control, primary care and case management for Warriors in Transition to establish conditions for healing and promote the timely return to the force or transition to civilian life

Their motto is:

I am a Warrior in Transition.

My job is to heal as I transition back to duty or continue serving the nation as a Veteran in my community.

This is not a status, but a mission.

I will succeed in this mission because

I AM A WARRIOR AND I AM ARMY STRONG

…And what better way to stay ARMY STRONG than a big juicy rib eye

Special Thank You to Christopher Tone of Tone Images for these great Images!
